(500) Days of Summer Author's Note:
The following is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.
Especially you Jenny Beckman.
I decided to take a breather today by watching this offbeat rom-com flick called (500) Days of Summer, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. Can I just say that this quirky movie is one of my favourites of the year (along with Slumdog Millionaire). It's definitely not a typical love story, and the end is kinda kooky, but that's what I love about it: it feels real, the characters are realistic, and it connects with audiences at an emotional level. You may find yourself feeling for Tom (Gordon-Levitt), whose love for Summer (Deschanel) is unrequited. Well, at least Summer does not believe that true love exists.
The soundtrack, which is pretty stellar too, features songs by Regina Spektor, The Smiths, Feist, Carla Bruni, Doves, The Temper Trap, Black Lips, and more.
